Training course "Promoting the impact of research projects: towards the figure of the Impact Manager"

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

Background
The R&T Framework Program places ever greater emphasis on the impact and the economic and social repercussions deriving from the enhancement of the research results achieved within the projects. In most cases, researchers do not have the skills and knowledge necessary to draft the sections of the projects relating to impact and need to make use of support services, both in the design phase and in the implementation phase of the projects. The support services are available at the Research Offices and, with particular regard to economic impact and innovation, at the Technology Transfer Offices. The two functions tend to be separated within universities and sometimes this does not favor the creation of synergies useful to better support the proponents of European projects. The programs funded under the PNRR also envisage indicating the potential impact of the results on the country's economic, social and cultural system, after defining any indicators that make it possible to evaluate them. In-depth knowledge for the analysis of costs and benefits, the preparation of business plans and time schedules, as well as the analysis
financial risks associated with investments of a significant economic dimension therefore become fundamental. As part of the course, skills and knowledge on the subject of impact will be provided with particular reference to the scientific, social and economic dimensions, in alignment with the provisions of the Framework Program, in order to
promote the professional growth of personnel (Impact Managers) specialized in maximizing the impact of project proposals, monitoring and enhancing research results, in synergy with the dissemination of results and technology transfer.
